Everyone had a fantastic time with the banter being good, and much leg pulling for good measure, the competition was excellent as weights came from no particular peg, some had big fish some had lots of fish, some had fish they could'nt stop most lost as many as they landed. The weather didn't help on most competition days we experienced extremes of conditions from 30 degrees full sun and flat calm to high winds and very cold to torrential down pours, it was a real mixed bag. however the anglers did what they had to do, to try and qualify for the A final, with a few surprises along the way.....but one things for sure, it was one the countries top pay outs for a competition with the prize pot in being in excess of £3000. The sponsors for the event were Preston Innovations, The Queensberry Hotel, Annan, and of course ourselves Broom Fisheries We would like to thank Mick Slater of Preston Innovations for supporting the Broom Series again this year. Likewise Roger and Lisa of The Queensberry Hotel for giving us a special deal on the accommodation, and for putting up with the utter cobblers that anglers talk when at any bar...... Last but not least we would like to thank the Broom Series anglers, who throughout the series have travelled a long way but have always been competitive, innovative, good humoured and pleasure to have on the premises. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !! The dates for the 2011 Broom Series will be displayed shortly on this website Home page enquires to John Wright 07850 157 668 or 01461 700386 |
